My work explores biology, sexuality, fear, and the subconscious. I am enchanted by the juxtaposition of humankind's organic and manufactured realities- the natural world versus its created counterpart. Expressing this fascination through a variety of mediums has long been an essential part of my process.
Though originally trained in lithography, serigraphy, and oil painting, I continue to combine materials and techniques that excite me. I have always had an interest in collage and assemblage. Ticket stubs, poems, things found in nature, flowers gifted by a neighbor. These tiny artifacts are essential to the work. Adding acrylic, resin, embroidery, and spray paint into the mix has allowed me to further articulate my vision.
The artworks are a glimpse behind my eyes, a combination of my imagination and actual pieces of my life. I am inspired by art of all kinds. Mountains, rivers and lakes. The endless ocean. The intricacies of the human condition.
